Component does not work... 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago

Greetings!
I have a test site with a perfectly working installation of Joomla 1.5.15
I installed the component as usual, set up a menu link but when i click it, all i get is a blank screen. I get this in all browsers, any ideas?

Please try turning on errors report in Joomla backend and see what happend

erro says Be sure $compile_dir is writable by the web server user
my compile directory is already 777. This must be a file permission issue. Any idea what files need to be changed?
